In film, composition refers to the arrangement and rendering of objects within the frame. Composition can vary depending on camera movements, types of shots, and framing used by the filmmaker. While a more experienced artist can experiment with these aspects, an amateur filmmaker should first learn the rules of composition, specifically the rule of thirds, in order to understand what constitutes an arresting image.
