Swagger: SFFILM Education Viewing Guide

Swagger is a candid documentary that introduces the viewer to eleven middle school

students, many of whom are first generation immigrants, living in a Paris banlieue. A class

screening of the film may supplement a French language, social studies or youth awareness

curriculum. Taught in conjunction with this guide,  Swagger will encourage students to

think about goals and opportunities, their own views on the world and those of their peers.

Discussion questions and supplementary materials facilitate further research into related

topics such as French identity, racial and cultural segregation, and immigration.
