Google and the World Brain is a feature documentary about the Google Books project, and the creation of digital libraries. A class screening of the film may supplement an English, History, or Social Studies curriculum. Taught in conjunction with this guide Google and the World Brain will challenge students to think critically about the social and philosophical impact of information economies in the digital age. Discussion questions address the conflict between knowledge disbursement and privacy, and encourage further research into related topics such as the role of public vs. private institutions, and the intersection of technology and science fiction.
