Facing Fear is a short documentary film about a hate crime and an incredible reconciliation many years later. A class screening of the film may complement a unit on tolerance, forgiveness and personal responsibility. Taught in conjunction with this guide, the film will empower students to think critically about the psychology of violence, mob mentalities and the power of an open dialogue. Discussion questions and supplemental materials facilitate further research into related topics such as tolerance education and personal transformation.
